Rosina Wachtmeister was born in Vienna in 1939 and moved to Brasil in 1953. Following her studies at the Museum of Art in Porto Alegre, she moved to Rome in 1967 with her Italian husband, artist Raolo Rissone and took residence in the ruined historic quarter of the village of Capena nestled in the hills to the north of Rome. It is now here that Rosina lives and works with her extended family as an artist and sculptor in the idyllic surroundings of her garden and in the company of doves, geese, 13 dogs, 5 pelicans, 17 peacocks, 20 cats and of course her favourite cat by the name of Serafino.
