The Australian Camel - There are about 750,000 roaming wild in the outback and they cause a host of problems.
Camels were imported to Australia in the 19th century. Australian feral camels are feral populations consisting of two species of camel: mostly dromedaries but also some bactrian camels.
Several types and breeds of camels from different countries were imported to Australia, most of them were one-humped dromedaries.
Two-humped Bactrian camels from China were the minority.
